Daphne Bockenstedt

A Charleston, SC native, Daphne earned her degree from the Edmund Morgan School of Neuromuscular & Massage Therapy in Cornelius, NC in 2008. A reflective and tenacious person by nature, she initially opened The Great Escape Spa Therapy (a wellness center) in 2010. Following recognition that her own path had repeatedly led her back to the importance of healthy living and realizing that others desire the same, she opened Massage Charleston in 2013, a private practice specializing in deep tissue massage, neuromuscular massage, trigger point therapy, and sports rehab. Her clients, including athletes, business professionals, moms-to-be, and seniors, are working toward their goal of a vibrant, healthy balance between the body and mind: the very foundation of Massage Charleston.

Her years of experience have been enriched by practicing for the Edmund Morgan School, working for two 5 Star Resorts "The Spa at The Sanctuary" and “The Spa at Pebble Beach” and by partnering with chiropractors and various holistic health care providers. She has been a sponsor and massage therapist for the South Eastern Cross-fit Competition, Integrity’s Revenge, every year since 2011 and she has sponsored the Medical University Of South Carolina’s Boot Camp Program every year since 2009. From 2013 to 2015 Daphne was the official massage therapist for Charleston's very own Stingrays, a professional minor league hockey team.

A requisite Type A individual, Daphne takes her work seriously, approaching health from a proactive instead of a reactive mindset. Daphne treasures the one-on-one relationships built through massage and is inspired by the strength exhibited by her clients as they strive to live without compromise. She credits a lot of her knowledge of athletic performance and injury rehabilitation to being and working with athletes. Daphne considers herself a work in progress, meaning she is always investigating new outlets for health and wellness.
